The credit is 20% of your rent payments in the year, up to a maximum of:
- €500 for an individual
- €1,000 for a couple who are jointly assessed for tax
In budget 2024, the individual Rent Tax Credit has been raised to €750.

Eligibility
Rent payments for:
- your primary home or,
- a property used by you for qualified courses or work or,
- a property for your child/ren for qualified courses are eligible for this tax credit.
GOOD NEWS! RENT TAX CREDIT INCREASED TO €750 FOR 2024
A new Rent Tax Credit was introduced in 2022. It will be available for the years 2022 to 2025. We can help you claim this and other income tax credits such as employment expenses, medical expenses, marriage expenses, tuition fees, and many others.
